Mr. Stout has been employed by the Wake County Government for the past 24 years, serving as Director of Facilities Design and Construction. This department head position serves as a member of the Executive Management Team, advising the County Manager and Board of County Commissioners on administrative and policy issues for Wake County. As Director, Mr. Stout has been primarily responsible for successfully managing over 500 capital improvement projects, such as Wake Med Soccer Park, Five County Baseball Stadium, Raleigh Convention Center, Wake County Public Safety Center, Marbles Museum/IMAX Theatre, Public Health Center, Law Enforcement Training Center, 15 Wake County Libraries, numerous county/school parks, two county landfills and RTP water/sewer projects.
Prior to joining Wake County Government, Mr. Stout was employed for 12 years by a Real Estate Department firm in Florida as construction manager, and by an architectural engineering firm in North Carolina as a field engineer. He is certified as a General Contractor and Registered Land Surveyor.
Mr. Stout attended East Carolina University through their baseball scholarship program, where his commitment to physical and mental preparation, along with benefits of teamwork and competition influenced his career.
