Virginia Young
Mrs. Young attended Whitman College and is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Liberal Arts degree. Her previous activities within the last 25 years in Chapel Hill include:
- President, Friends of Chapel Hill Public Library.
- Founder and President, Chapel Hill Public Library Board of Trustees.
- President, Preservation Society.
- Docent for 22 years, Ackland Art Museum.
- Board Member, of Ackland Guild.
- Board Member, Chapel Hill Senior Center.
- President Gimghoul Road Homeowner's Association.
- Altar Guild Member: Chapel of The Cross Episcopal Church.
- Volunteer Luncheon Cook Community Center.
Past activities prior to residence in Chapel Hill:
- Vice President and President-Elect of Peninsula Volunteers in Menlo/Atherton, California.
Volunteer Allied Arts, Stanford University.
- Two years assigned by Department of State at American Embassy, Quito Ecuador. Four years Department of State Germany.
- Seven years in London, four years in Paris, and two years in Toronto as wife of banker husband with hospital volunteer work.
